Grappling Take down the crossbow technique

Polecat Crossbow

The Polecat Crossbow is a simple take down technique used when grappling an opponent from the front.

Pay attention to getting the upper hand by either bringing the arms over the side or through the inside for the top position then using one hand in a Polecat Claw or Bear Claw type hand, place this under the chin of the opponent and push the head backwards. At the same time, slide your other arm down your own arm until you are able to grab the wrist of your opponent. Stretch out your opponent like a crossbow, pulling hard on the wrist and pushing harder uder the chin of your attacker. Step your leg out to the side towards the rear of your opponent to act as the lever point in the take down, then with slight backwards pressure, using the hand under the attackers chin, simply push back to drop your opponent to the floor.

Keep hold of the wrist of the opponent will allow you to remain in control of the situation once the attacker is grounded for further submision moves, or do the sensible thing and run away once the opponenet has hit the deck.
