GKR Kata Sepai

Kata Sepai, practised here by totally Blind karate instructor Sensei Mark Brown at the Batley Sports and Tennis Center alongside the GKR Northern Zone students in the UK at the 2013 Black Belt Grading.

Sepai is one of the most difficult kata to truly master and is required in order to proceed to black belt in the current Go Kan Ryu grading syllabus. The kata consist of a variety of blocks and strikes mostly aimed at very close quarter grappling situations which is consistent with other goju ryu forms and kata and early chinese martial arts in general.

Alongside Mark Brown, is sensei Derrek Maitland who was assisting Mark with his positioning during the noisy black belt grading class.
