GKR Kata Seiunchin

Kata Seiunchin, an ancient goju form taught by Mayagi who's real meaning down the line has probably been lost through time, although some people believe the kata simply means, to pull, or to march quietly. The kata itself was made famous from the iconic 1980s trilogy of Karate Kid, and Daniel son can be seen performing the kata in one of the films.

This video footage was shot at a real GKR Black Belt Grading to give you a clear idea at the quality of the form required to grade to a Shodan Black Belt. Mark Brown, who is totally blind, performs the kata here at Batley Sports and Tennis center back in April 2013 after grading to 1st Dan Shodan Black Belt. His GKR Sensei, Derek Maitland can also be seen helping Mark with his alignment during the event.
