GKR Kata Bassai Dai

Bassai Dai is an advanced kata and the fourth kata found in the current GKR syllabus. The kata uses a massive 38 counts and numerous attacking and blocking techniques. Shotokan based form but early origins link back to ancient chinese kung fu. GKR practise the kata slightly different to the traditional Shotokan form, with subtle differences in both the beggining and ending sequence, also the Yama Tsuki double blow is directly driven out from the front of the body in GKR more like the double strike of Morote Tsuki, were as Shotokan will use the mountain punch over the head. This video is Mark Brown, who is totally blind and a Shodan Black Belt performing the kata at a real GKR Black Belt Grading.
